REPchess Version 0.1

REPchess is built on these open-source projects:
This permanently and irreversibly deletes everything this app has stored in this browser:
There is no undo. Once this runs, none of it can be recovered.
If you want a copy first: Make a Full Backup
Of the games you actually play, how many would your memorized rooms carry you through, if future games go the way past ones did? Each game is followed through your repertoire (the opponent's moves, your standard replies) until it leaves your preparation, or reaches a prepared move whose room isn't memorized yet. Those rooms are listed by how many games stopped there: memorizing them first covers the most games.
Type TOTAL DELETE below to permanently erase all data and reset this app to a fresh install.
You don't have this set up yet. REPchess can install a ready-made set to get you started — you can edit or replace any of it later.
Paste one or more variations in algebraic notation, one variation per line, e.g. 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bb5 a6.
Sets each of your moves as the standard response along each path in the currently open opening system.
Paste a move sequence starting from move 1, e.g. 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bb5 a6.
If found, expands and focuses on that exact path in the tree; everything else collapses out of view.
Reminders can only come while REPchess is open in a tab. On a phone a tab in the background is paused, so a reminder waits until you come back to it, and then shows on the page.
The tab title always shows how many are due, e.g. “(2) REPchess”, whether or not notifications are on.
Everything lives in this browser, so a Full Backup (Menu → Import / Export) is your only copy if its data is cleared. The reminder comes up when the app starts, at most once a week.
The [8-12] after a move in the move table gives the shallowest and the deepest of your moves that the branches below it reach; it turns bold when everything below it is filled out. A branch that goes past the range counts as overfilled, so a big subtree you may want to prune doesn't go bold. To overrule this for one line, use Set Attributes → Filled out: Complete or Incomplete.
How your other devices refer to this one. Leave it blank for the browser's own name.
Connecting links this device to a private folder in your Google Drive that only REPchess can see. Changes sync by themselves about a minute after you make them, and another device's arrive within about a minute; Sync now (or the cloud beside the menu button) syncs straight away.
Times the page stopped responding for more than a second since it was opened, and what was running then. Useful when a click seems to take ages.
Castle rebuilds this session, the usual cause of a slowdown:
The dashboard's building figures (rooms to decorate, ready to memorize, unanswered moves) cover only the castles you're working on. Auto counts a castle as active once any room has some decoration, until every room is memorized.
Positions where another move of yours lands on a position already in this opening system — switching to it means less to memorize. Moves are scored from saved engine analysis; positions without enough of it can be queued for analysis.
Positions reached by two or more different castles via different move orders — each is currently a separate VR room even though the position is identical. In each group, select the room you want to keep building out, then press "Redirect Selected". Every other room in that group is redirected to it (their door routes straight to its room in VR) and any responses they already had are automatically ported over. You can select in several groups and resolve them all in one go; a group you leave unselected is left alone.
Nothing queued. Use a move row's ⋮ menu → "Add to Analysis Queue" to queue deep background analysis.
| Position | Target | Status |
|---|
Deep-searches the objectively best line for White: one best move each ply, every Black reply within the tolerance band explored as its own branch. Runs in the background, only when the Analysis Queue above is empty.
Perfect Opening never runs while the Analysis Queue or live analysis needs the engine, so it's safe to let it use everything available while it has the engine to itself.

Drop image files named for the move they belong to — piece letter
(N/B/R/Q/K) plus the destination square, e.g. Nf6.png or Bc4.jpg.
Pawn moves use just the square, e.g. a1.png. Each file is filed into the
matching square's mnemonic automatically; existing images for that square/piece are
overwritten.
